As I begin my term as President of the Wisconsin Chapter of
RMA, I have used this opportunity to reflect upon the events
and changes that have occurred within our industry over the
past 36 months. To name a few, we are experiencing a prolonged
economic slowdown, loan portfolio quality has deteriorated,
interest rates are at levels not seen in two generations, and
global conflict continues to create uncertainty in the
financial markets.
In this environment, are we, as leaders within the
financial services industry prepared to face these challenges?
Are we prepared to do our part - to participate in and guide
an economic recovery? Do we have the tools and resources
available to be successful in this endeavor?
I believe we are, we will and we do! Over the past several
years, I have been exposed to the vast resources RMA makes
available to its members. Our national trade organization’s
leadership, direction, resources and membership rosters have
never been stronger. State chapters throughout the Country
remain vibrant, active and committed to the needs of its
membership.
As RMA members, I would encourage you to continue to do
your part to keep this momentum moving forward. Participate
and encourage your associates to participate in RMA events and
educational programs. Share your knowledge and experiences, so
others within your organizations and within the industry may
benefit. This newsletter details the programs and events that
the Wisconsin Chapter plans on delivering to you this year. I
hope to see you and your associates take advantage of these
opportunities.
As always, if you have questions, concerns or comments
about RMA please feel free to contact me.
